United Nations Foundation: Website Design & Development
SPARK has redesigned multiple high profile websites for the United Nations Foundation including Girl Up, Clean Cookstoves, and Better World Campaign.
Here is the story of Girl Up, a UNF campaign dedicated to advocating, fundraising and building networks of leaders on behalf of girls in need.
They needed a strong digital presence to support their achievement of this important mission.
We work really closely with SPARK. We look to them as a friend and an advisor and an agency that we call when we need help thinking of creative ideas. I’m grateful to have friends and partners like SPARK. I’m grateful to have the luxury to work with an agency who really believes in what they do an believes in thinking about what they’re doing. SPARK took Girl Up through our user-centered design process.
User Research: We interviewed young girls, parents, and donors to understand how to better engage them.
Baseline Data: We tested the “before” site to create a benchmark and identify targeted improvements.
Design: & Content: We applied the research findings to the site design, core messaging and website content creation.
Validation & Refinement: We conducted usability testing to measure changes and find further opportunities to improve.
Results were astounding.
- Usability of our redesign multiplied, from a 51% success rate to a 90% success rate.
- 100% of research participants said they preferred the new site.
- 100% of participants said the new site made them feel more proud of their involvement with Girl Up.
- The redesign scored better across the board.
"I think this is a billion times better. I like that it tells you exactly what the organization is. It's very transparent and clear. And I also like the video thing – it's kind of cool. I just think it's good messaging as soon as you come on the website."
