Looking for on-the-job experience to complement your graduate or doctoral studies? Our BrainWave research intern will work closely with SPARK’s user experience research team to conduct qualitative and quantitative research projects for our clients.

A primary goal of the internship will be to assist with contacting, scheduling, and testing participants through the use of physiological and psychological measurements. This includes setting up and recording EEG (a measure of brain activity), facial expression recognition, GSR (a measure of nervous system activation), and eye tracking. The intern will receive extensive training on each neurophysiological measurement device used in our research studies.


We are seeking internship candidates with a background in physiological measurement and a strong interest in user-centered design who are looking to gain hands-on experience conducting user research in a professional environment. We are currently seeking individuals for the period from September to December.


    • Candidate must have a B.S. in Psychology, Human Factors, or Neuroscience
    • Experience in a research laboratory is strongly recommended
    • Experience working with physiological metrics is strongly recommended, including: EEG, galvanic skin response, facial response, fMRI, or eye trackin
    • Strong skillset working with both qualitative and quantitative dat
    • A self starter, problem solver, detail oriented and organized team player
